Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! The original Thursday football games are on in full force today, with a full slate of games ranging from fantastic matchups to those that, on the surface, seem a bit one-sided.

In the early game, the Detroit Lions host their annual Thanksgiving Day affair, this time against the division-leading Minnesota Vikings. Detroit already has a win over the Vikings, a 14-7 victory in week 4, so this one is big for them if they want a shot at winning the division. Minnesota comes into the game at 8-2, while Detroit sits at 6-4.

The middle game is also a fairly solid matchup, with the Los Angeles Chargers heading to Jerruh’s World to take on the Dallas Cowboys. The Chargers were made to look like a Super Bowl team last week by our Buffalo Bills, and at 4-6, their playoff hopes hinge on a winning streak here. Similarly, the Cowboys are 5-5 in a crowded NFC playoff race. A loss won’t doom them, but it will come close.

The nightcap is a divisional game that looked much better when the schedule first came out than it does now, as the 2-8 New York Giants head to the nation’s capital to face off against the 4-6 Washington Redskins. Even with a win, Washington isn’t in particularly good playoff position, and the Giants are all but eliminated. Hopefully, the tryptophan kicks in by then.

Use this as your open thread for the day, Rumblers, if you have a moment to check in with your fellow Bills’ fans celebrating around the country (and possibly in other parts of the world, as well). Most importantly, enjoy the time with your family.
