Buffalo Bills receiver Zay Jones is a solid fantasy football waiver wire addition

The rookie has really come on of late.

Early on in his rookie campaign, Buffalo Bills’ rookie wide receiver Zay Jones was not producing. He was not being targeted much, amassing 37 targets over his first 7 games, and when he was targeted, he was not catching the football. Jones had 10 catches for 115 yards in that span. He just was not someone who needed to be on anyone’s fantasy football roster.

When the Bills played the New York Jets for the second time, however, Jones found his stride. He had the best game of his career that night, catching 6-of-7 targets for 53 yards and his first NFL touchdown. Unfortunately, he was injured in the game, so he could have put up even more scoring. He missed a week, but came back strong. Including the game at the Jets, Jones has been targeted 24 times in his last 3 games. He has 13 catches for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns over that time.

Those numbers don’t scream “WR1,” but they do represent a move in the right direction for the Bills’ rookie. With any advantage necessary as fantasy football playoffs approach, taking a flier on Jones is something that you should certainly do if you have the chance. And, chances are, Jones is available in your Yahoo! fantasy league, as he is only rostered in 14% of leagues right now.

Chances are good that you have someone sitting on your bench who isn’t going as well as Jones is right now. With favorable matchups coming in all five of his games to end the season, Zay Jones is a solid bet to finish his rookie campaign on a high note. He may even help you win a fantasy football playoff game if you put a claim in for him now.
