The Buffalo Bills are clinging to the slimmest of slim playoff hopes in Week 14. The Indianapolis Colts come to Orchard Park at 3-9, all but eliminated from playoff contention. The Bills will need to win an eminently winnable game with Nathan Peterman under center, and if the rookie flops in his second start, he’ll only have Joe Webb to back him up. Here are the Bills’ inactives for Sunday.
QB Tyrod Taylor
Buffalo’s starting quarterback was a game-time decision today with a bruised patellar tendon, and the decision is that he not only won’t start, but he won’t be healthy enough to play in a pinch, either. Buffalo’s only quarterbacks on the roster are Peterman, Webb, and Logan Thomas. Two of those guys aren’t really quarterbacks anymore, so keeping Peterman upright will be even more important than it would already have been.
WR Brandon Reilly
For those who were excited to see the Bills’ undrafted rookie who was just called up to the practice squad, they’ll have to wait at least one more week. With Kelvin Benjamin ready to play, Reilly will serve as the inactive receiver today. Buffalo has Benjamin, Deonte Thompson, Zay Jones, Andre Holmes, and Brandon Tate active at the receiver position after placing Jordan Matthews on injured reserve.
OTs Seantrel Henderson and Cordy Glenn
Henderson makes his way onto the inactive list, joining Glenn, who will miss his fourth consecutive game. Henderson’s inactive designation means that Conor McDermott will serve as Buffalo’s swing tackle, backing up Dion Dawkins and Jordan Mills.
G John Miller
Buffalo’s former starter at right guard is inactive again. Vlad Ducasse starts, with Ryan Groy as the backup interior lineman.
TE Khari Lee
As I mentioned above, Logan Thomas is active, so he’ll serve as both the third tight end and, presumably, the third quarterback. Nick O’Leary and Charles Clay are both healthy.
CB Leonard Johnson
Buffalo’s nickel corner is inactive today, meaning Shareece Wright is active for the first time since E.J. Gaines returned from injury a few weeks ago.
