With the college football regular season over, the NFL has a doubleheader on Saturday this week. One game features NFC rivals from the NFC North - the Chicago Bears against the Detriot Lions at 4:30 Eastern - while the Saturday night tilt between AFC West foes draws fans of the Buffalo Bills.
The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers are locked in a tie for the AFC West lead at 7-6. The Chiefs, having already beaten Los Angeles once, could put a stranglehold on the division with their second win and only two games remaining. The Chargers, on the other hand, could finish a remarkable comeback from an 0-4 start with a victory and take a one-game lead into their final two contests.
Surprisingly to many Bills fans who follow the team, we are actually rooting for the Chiefs to win tonight and keep the Chargers in the Wild Card race against Buffalo. The reason is that a three-way tie is much more likely than a two-way tie for the final playoff spot so Buffalo’s loss to the Chargers won’t factor into the tiebreaker scenario. Instead, the Chargers’ worse AFC record will put them behind Buffalo.
