Buffalo Bills-Miami Dolphins first half open thread: a season on the brink

While the loser isn’t mathematically eliminated, it’s close enough to label this a “must-win” for both teams

The Buffalo Bills host the Miami Dolphins in what will probably be the last game played at New Era field this season. At 7-6, the Bills need a win not only to guarantee only their fourth non-losing season during the playoff drought, but they also need it to maintain hope in the AFC playoff hunt. The Dolphins are 6-7, and they face the same scenario, with a loss all but eliminating them from the playoffs.

The weather is expected to be far better this afternoon than it was last week, with no snow in the forecast during the game. The temperatures won’t break the freezing mark, however, but the wind and visibility won’t be nearly as much an issue as it was during the Bills’ 13-7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts last week.

Tyrod Taylor will start for the Bills at quarterback after missing last week’s game with a knee injury. Jay Cutler starts for Miami, and he’s coming off one of the best games of his 2017 season, throwing for 263 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 27-20 victory over the New England Patriots.

Let’s go Bills!
