Buffalo Bills inactives: Kelvin Benjamin will play today

The Bills’ top wideout is active in a critical game

With two of the seven players that the Buffalo Bills will have inactive today already known, the big question was whether or not Kelvin Benjamin would be able to suit up against the Miami Dolphins in a critical AFC matchup. Well, he is going to play, so who are the other Bills who won’t be active today?

QB Nathan Peterman

Buffalo’s rookie quarterback suffered a concussion during the Bills’ 13-7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in last week’s blizzard game. Tyrod Taylor will regain the starting quarterback job, and Joe Webb will be the number two quarterback. Let’s see if Webb plays special teams today like he did last week. If Webb were to be injured, Logan Thomas is the emergency quarterback.

G John Miller

The Bills’ former starter at right guard had a setback with his injured ankle earlier in the week. He’s been a scratch since losing his starting gig anyway, whether he’s been healthy or not. Vlad Ducasse will start at right guard, and Ryan Groy will serve as the backup interior lineman once again.

TE Khari Lee

With Logan Thomas to play as the third tight end and the emergency quarterback, this was a forgone conclusion. Lee has been a healthy scratch more often than not this season

OT Conor McDermott

The head coach’s namesake will be a healthy scratch again. Dion Dawkins and Jordan Mills will remain as the starting tackles, and Seantrel Henderson will serve as the swing tackle. Cordy Glenn was placed on injured reserve earlier this week.

RB Mike Tolbert

It appears that the coaching staff has finally realized that Tolbert may be a great guy, but he doesn’t offer much in the way of actual production on the field. His deactivation for the day means that Travaris Cadet will be the sole backup to LeSean McCoy.

WR Brandon Reilly

Andre Holmes’s status for today’s game was in doubt, as the special teamer/wide receiver missed time due to a neck injury this week. However, with Holmes and Kelvin Benjamin both good to go, it’s Reilly who will be inactive for the second straight game since his promotion from the practice squad.

CB Breon Borders

Buffalo’s newest addition to its 53-man roster is a healthy scratch this week, which was to be expected. He only signed with Buffalo on Friday after Cordy Glenn was placed on injured reserve. Borders previously was a member of the Oakland Raiders’ practice squad.

Miami’s inactives are as follows:
