Buffalo Bills cornerback EJ Gaines seems to get injured every week to some extent. This week, in the 3rd quarter when whiffing on a tackle, Gaines hurt his knee. Gaines was carted to the locker room and is now listed as out for the remainder of the game and has been replaced by first-year Bill Shareece Wright.

Over the course of the season the reserve defensive backs have seemed to have issues filling in for Gaines when he goes down. However, just two plays after Gaines went off with the injury, his replacement picked of Miami Dolphins quarterback Jay Cutler on fourth down. Wright’s pick was the second of his career and his first as a member of the Bills.

The Bills defense has been playing very well since the end of the first quarter, and got a three-and-out in their first drive without Gaines. With only one quarter left, let’s see if Wright can continue to hold down Gaines’ position.
