Kenyan Drake shines, but Buffalo Bills keep Miami Dolphins contained in fantasy football

Miami’s running back was held under 100 yards rushing for the first time in three weeks

Kenyan Drake, the running back for the Miami Dolphins, came into Orchard Park on Sunday on a hot streak. In the two games prior to facing the Buffalo Bills, Drake totaled 234 rushing yards and a touchdown on 48 carries; he also caught eight passes for an even 100 yards in those contests. While he did manage a solid day against the Bills, he did not reach the lofty numbers he had in the previous two weeks.

RB Kenyan Drake

The Dolphins running back has been a revelation since Jay Ajayi was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this season. Drake managed 78 yards rushing on 16 carries, adding a touchdown to boot. He also had 6 receptions for 35 yards, bringing his total fantasy points for the day to 20.3, his third consecutive outing of 20 points or more. If he’s on your roster, he’s in your lineup Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

WR Jarvis Landry

The always-volatile receiver had a solid outing, snagging 10 catches for 99 yards on 13 targets. In PPR and half-PPR leagues, Landry has been a goldmine all season, scoring in single-digits only four times in 2017. On Sunday, he managed 14.9 fantasy points in a typically workmanlike game serving as Jay Cutler’s safety net.

WR DeVante Parker

The 6’3” Louisville product had himself a day, hauling in 6 passes for 89 yards on the afternoon. Parker is a talented receiver who is targeted far less than his counterpart in Landry, but he has the potential for big days like this one at times. His 11.9 fantasy points was good for his second-highest total of the 2017 season, and his name is one to watch in the season finale when these two teams meet again. Buffalo’s corners are on the smaller side, so containing the big-bodied Parker will be a tough challenge.

TE Julius Thomas

While I projected him to have a good day, he certainly did not. He has been all name and no production all season. Thomas caught 2 passes for 15 yards, good for 2.5 fantasy points.
