Bills Injury Report: Deonte Thompson suffers shoulder injury

The wide receiver is also working his way back from a back injury he suffered last Sunday

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Deonte Thompson suffered a shoulder injury at Thursday’s practice and is “still being evaluated,” head coach Sean McDermott said.

Following the injury, Thompson left the practice field accompanied by one of the team’s athletic trainers. Rookie Zay Jones filled in at practice for Thompson.

*Update: McDermott says whether Thompson plays against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday will be deceided on game day.

Staying with the wide receivers group, Kelvin Benjamin (knee) made his return to practice after missing Wednesday’s session. As did a vital member of the Bills defensive line, Kyle Williams (groin).

McDermott says that cornerback E.J. Gaines is “ready to go” for Sunday’s ultra-important season finale at the Dolphins. Gaines missed last week’s game with a knee injury. He was spotted at practice Thursday appearing to go through drills at full speed, after not moving around well last week.

The Bills toppled the Dolphins in their first matchup back in Week 15, but with a possible playoff berth available for the Bills, undoubtedly they would like they would much like to have Thompson, Benjamin, Gaines and Williams available to play on Sunday.
