Bills defenders Shaq Lawson, Leonard Johnson leave game with leg injuries

That won’t help.

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Buffalo Bills Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Bills are down two starting defenders with 21 minutes left in the game against the New England Patriots. The injuries both happened on the opening drive of the second half and both Shaq Lawson (right ankle) and Leonard Johnson (left knee) are questionable to return.

Lawson was carted off the field almost immediately after heading to the sideline in obvious pain. He was hurt on a first-and-goal pile-up and limped to the sideline. Eddie Yarbough will get more snaps in the defensive line rotation in place of Lawson.

Johnson was hurt on a 3rd down play but they didn’t show a replay of the injury. He went to the observation tent and trotted to the locker room. In place of Johnson, inexperienced corner Lafayette Pitts was into the game as the only other cornerback on the roster, but we has outside while E.J. Gaines moved into the nickel position.
