The Buffalo Bills can gain entry into the 2017 NFL Playoffs with a victory over the Miami Dolphins today. Of course, the Bills will need some help either from the Cincinnati Bengals or both the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Oakland Raiders, but the possibility exists that the Bills can make the playoffs for the first time since the close of the 1999 season.
Tyrod Taylor will take his career 115.6 quarterback rating against the Dolphins to Hard Rock Stadium, hoping to become the first Bills’ signal caller since Rob Johnson to lead the team to a playoff berth. For Miami, veteran Jay Cutler is expected to start, but also to give way to relative-unknown David Fales, who has thrown all of five career passes as a member of the Dolphins and the Chicago Bears.
Expect a heavy dose of LeSean McCoy and Kenyan Drake today, as both teams have something to play for—a playoff berth for the Bills, and the spoiling of a hated rival’s berth for the Dolphins.
Happy New Year, folks. Let’s hope that 2018 involves a Buffalo Bills’ playoff game.
