Andre Smith, who recently visited the Buffalo Bills as a possible free-agent signee, decided to return to his former team, the Cincinnati Bengals, on Tuesday night.
The news was reported by Jeff Darlington of ESPN.
Smith spent 2009 to 2015 with the Bengals before signing with the Vikings in 2016. He only played four games with Minnesota due to a triceps injury he suffered in Week 4 that ended his season.
The 6’3”, 340-pound offensive linemen was the No. 6 overall selection in the 2009 NFL draft after an illustrious career at the University of Alabama.
The details of Smith’s contract aren’t yet known, but his deal won’t likely be very expensive coming off an injury at 30 years old.
Jeff Darlington added this regarding Smith:
“Bills source says Buffalo also made hard run at Smith, but he informed Bills, despite great visit, he wants to go back to his former squad.”
