Bills work out UNC QB Mitchell Trubisky

Head coach Sean McDermott and owner Terry Pegula were both in attendance

The Buffalo Bills have a quarterback for the 2017 season, having renegotiated a deal with incumbent starter Tyrod Taylor that keeps him with the team at a reduced price for the upcoming season. However, there is some debate as to whether or not the team has its quarterback of the future on the roster. The latest 2017 NFL Draft prospect on Buffalo’s radar: Mitchell Trubisky.

As per Gunter Brewer, the co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at the University of North Carolina, both Sean McDermott and Terry Pegula attended a workout for Trubisky, who is thought by many to be the top quarterback in this year’s draft class.

Trubisky only started one year at UNC, this past year, but it was a phenomenal year. He completed 68% of his passes, throwing for 3,748 and 30 touchdowns against only 7 interceptions. The 6’2”, 222 pound junior ran a 4.67 second 40-yard dash and has 9.5 inch hands.

Mike Garafolo tweeted that the Bills were not exactly acting as if this were a state secret, as they retweeted the picture posted by Coach Brewer from their official account.

So, the Bills are either showing genuine interest in the Tar Heels’ signal caller, doing some due-diligence on an excellent prospect, or positioning themselves for a trade down during #lyinseason.
