Buffalo Bills first round draft pick, Tre’Davious White has received very high praise from Pro Football Focus. In their 2017 NFL Draft cornerback prospect rankings they ranked Ohio State, and now New Orleans Saints, cornerback Marshon Lattimore first and the newest Bill Tre’Davious White second. Here is what they said about White:
One of the top playmakers among the defensive backs in this draft class, White is going to excite whichever team drafts him with his ability to contribute on both defense and special teams from Day 1. Coming off his best season in college, White racked up two interceptions and 12 pass breakups from the 61 passes thrown into his coverage.
Taking a closer look at Pro Football Focus’ 2017 CB Class chart we see that White earned the best overall grade and best coverage grade of all cornerbacks in college football last season. His run D grade is the main concern on this chart, and in what most of the analysts have said in reaction to the pick.

If you’re like me, you’re probably asking yourself how he could receive their best grade, but be ranked second among prospects. The best I can determine is that while White played the best on the field during the 2016 college football season, Pro Football Focus believes he is the second best NFL prospect. This could be due to combine results, and other potential related factors. So Tre’Davious White, #1 college football corner, #2 NFL draft prospect corner.
All of this is to say that Tre’Davious White is graded very highly by Pro Football Focus and in some categories he is graded higher than the other four cornerbacks who were drafted last night. If this ranking turns out to be accurate than the Bills will be very happy to have the second best cornerback in the 2017 NFL Draft plus an extra third round pick this year and an extra first round pick next year.
