2017 NFL Draft: Buffalo Bills trade up, select Dion Dawkins, OT, Temple

Whaley and McDermott are wheeling and dealing this weekend.

The Buffalo Bills have made a third trade in the 2017 NFL Draft, moving up to the 63rd overall pick in the draft.

With that selection, they took Dion Dawkins, offensive tackle from Temple University.

Six-foot-four, and 314 pounds, Dawkins also has 35 inch arms, making him a fit for either tackle or guard. Dawkins started at Temple as a defensive tackle, then switched to the offensive side of the ball as a freshman. Dawkins dabbled on the right side before finding a home at left tackle, where he started for three seasons.

Dawkins is still developing as a lineman and has an exciting athletic profile. His 7.3 three cone drill time was in the 97th percentile for NFL offensive tackles, and would be faster than some linebackers. He also had a good forty yard dash and broad jump. He is still developing his technique, but could compete to become a starter at right tackle before long.
