The Buffalo Bills are one of the main suitors for Jeremy Maclin, but the sweepstakes have technically just begun.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo explained why, responding to a tweet from WGR 550’s Sal Capaccio which cited a Garafolo quote:
NFL Network's @MikeGarafolo says he expects 4-5 serious contenders for Jeremy Maclin and "the Bills' draw will be tempting for him."

The situation will start to clarify itself today. B/c he was cut so late on Fri, he'll be on today's wire, which officially makes him free. https://t.co/pXFWq6f6fx

Garafolo’s assumption about the interest in Maclin is a good one. It's not often that a wide receiver with Maclin’s resume becomes available in early June.
Beyond that, Garafolo’s point about Maclin’s release not processing until today because he was cut on Friday evening is likely why we haven't seen any concrete reports about potential visits or teams interested in acquiring him.
Certainly a handful of teams would love to have Maclin and possess the cap space to sign him.
However, of all teams in the NFL, the Bills have the best combination of need, available money, and connection — both player and coach — to Maclin.
Don’t be surprised when things heat up on the Maclin front tomorrow.
