As first reported by ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the Buffalo Bills will host free agent wide receiver Anquan Boldin on Monday. The three-time Pro Bowler (the last of those coming in 2008) has caught 1,076 passes (ninth all-time) for 13,779 yards (14th) and 82 touchdowns (23rd) in his career.
Boldin, who turns 37 in August, spent his 14th NFL season with the Detroit Lions last year, catching 67 passes for 584 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s also played for the Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, and San Francisco 49ers in his career.
The Bills are notably interested in adding to their wide receiver depth, having courted Jeremy Maclin earlier in the offseason before he decided to sign with the Ravens. Boldin wouldn’t be a clear-cut second option behind Sammy Watkins like Maclin would have been, but he would be a good third or fourth option with Andre Holmes, depending on the situation.
We’ll have more in this over the next few days.
