Buffalo Bills officially announce visit with Anquan Boldin

The team confirmed rumors that were initially reported last week

On Friday afternoon, ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported that the Buffalo Bills would host free agent wide receiver Anquan Boldin. Today, the team confirmed that report.

The Bills are hosting the 14-year veteran receiver on a visit today. If the team were to sign Boldin, he would add experience to a wide receiving corps that is short on just that. He would also bring over 1,000 NFL receptions to a group led by Sammy Watkins and rookie Zay Jones.

Last season, Boldin suited up for the Detroit Lions, where he caught 67 passes for 584 yards and eight touchdowns. He has also played for the San Francisco 49ers, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Arizona Cardinals, who made him their second-round draft pick in 2003.

Boldin played with the Ravens from 2010-2012. While with Baltimore, he was a teammate of Tyrod Taylor after Baltimore drafted Taylor in the sixth round in 2011.

If more information becomes available during Boldin’s visit, we’ll have it for you. With training camp set to open on Thursday, adding a veteran with Boldin’s pedigree and character would be a tremendous add for Sean McDermott’s Bills.
