What do Buffalo Bills fans expect from Tyrod Taylor in 2017?

We ask. You answer.

NFL: Buffalo Bills-Minicamp Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

We’ve all talked about Tyrod Taylor ad nauseam this off-season, so I won’t talk anymore. Instead, here are five scenarios and a poll. We want to know what would make you sign off 100% on Tyrod Taylor as the Buffalo Bills starting quarterback going forward into the future.

For each scenario below, you have the opportunity to vote “yes,” “no,” or “maybe” as to whether the scenario would make you feel 100% committed to Tyrod. I doubt it, but maybe Bills fans can at least agree on their expectations for the team’s quarterback play.

Scenario 1

The Bills are finally the dumpster fire that some media members have described. The team bottoms-out, finishing 4-12 or worse. Taylor doesn’t help the situation and has his worse season as a Bill: fewer than 3000 yards passing, 15 TDs, 10 INTs, 500 yards rushing.

Scenario 2

The Bills are again injury-prone, poorly-coached, and suffer tough losses like 2015 and 2016. Taylor plays just as he has the past two years and the team again misses the playoffs at 8-8 after hanging around in November and December. Taylor’s stats average out 2015 and 2016: 3050 yards passing, 19 TDs, 6 INTs, 570 yards rushing.

Scenario 3

LeSean McCoy gets hurt early in the season, missing most of the year. Jonathan Williams isn’t very good and the Bills running game suffers. Everyone talks about Mike Gillislee non-stop. The Bills’ defense remains pedestrian and Taylor is now forced to throw to keep the team in games. The Bills again miss the playoffs at 8-8 but Taylor posts career numbers: 4200 yards passing, 28 TDs, 12 INTs, 400 yards rushing.

Scenario 4

The Bills are healthy, well-coached, and win close games (i.e. the opposite of 2015 and 2016). Taylor plays just as he has the past two years and the team makes the playoffs at 10-6. The Bills proceed to lose a close Wild Card game. Taylor’s stats again average out 2015 and 2016: 3050 yards passing, 19 TDs, 6 INTs, 570 yards rushing.

Scenario 5

It all comes together. Sammy is healthy, Zay shows promise, and the running game doesn’t skip a beat under Dennison. The defense improves and the Bills cruise to an 11-5 record and the playoffs. The Bills win a wild card game but lose in the divisional round. Taylor’s stats are between his averages and pass-happy stats: 3600 yards passing, 24 TDs, 6 INTs, 570 yards rushing.
