Buffalo Bills vs. Minnesota Vikings: First team open thread

New, comments

Football is back!

Welcome to the 2017 NFL (pre)season!

The Buffalo Bills are finally back in action, with Sean McDermott set to lead his team on to New Era Field when the Bills and Minnesota Vikings kick off shortly.

McDermott has said that most of the starters should be playing for “about a quarter” tonight. That presumably includes names like Tyrod Taylor, LeSean McCoy, and Sammy Watkins on the offensive side and Marcell Dareus, Tre’Davious White, and Micah Hyde on the defense. The newly-acquired Anquan Boldin will be sitting out tonight, as will fellow starters Cordy Glenn and Shaq Lawson (among others).

It’s important not to get too carried away with how things look one way or the other. It’s the first preseason games for both teams, so both sides will be rusty and susceptible to poor play.

Go ahead and post your observations around the starters here. We’ll have a new open thread go up when the reserves start to come in.
