In his first game since being traded from the Buffalo Bills, cornerback Ronald Darby had himself a very solid outing Thursday against his old ‘mates. The third-year man came away with a neat pick on Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor, which turned into quite the return afterwards.

Darby gets extra points on the play for his blanket coverage while on an island by himself against new Bills wide receiver Anquan Boldin. Darby dropped what would have been a pick-six earlier in the game, and finished his night with a stat line of one interception, two passes defended, and one tackle.

Cornerback E.J. Gaines, who the Bills recently acquired from the Los Angeles Rams, made quite the first impression in his first game in a Bills uniform. Subbing in for rookie Tre'Davious White at the left corner spot, Gaines came away with a pick, defended two passes, and added three tackles.

Seeing Darby perform well, particularly against his old club, must have been a tough pill for Bills fans to swallow. Gaines making his own interception may have helped, though.
