Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde avoids injury after tumble in practice

During a diving interception, the offseason’s top signing landed awkwardly and had to leave the field.

During Wednesday’s training camp practice, Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde was attended to by trainers and taken to the locker room when he landed awkwardly following an interception of quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

Hyde appeared to be favoring his right leg, but after some time being evaluated by trainers, Hyde returned to the sidelines and jogged. He said after practice that he was okay, prompting Bills fans everywhere to breathe a little easier.

Following the injury, Hyde was replaced by Shamiel Gary for the remainder of the first-string reps. The Bills are hoping for Hyde, their biggest free agent signing of the offseason, to lock down a starting role in the secondary, since otherwise they’re counting on players with fewer than ten career starts - Gary and Colt Anderson.
