Before Saturday’s game against the Ravens, Buffalo Bills star defensive tackle Marcell Dareus was sent home for violating a team rule. Dareus showed up late to the stadium for their third preseason game, per reports.
“Everyone needs to know what’s expected,” said McDermott on Sunday when discussing the situation.
Dareus was not allowed to travel back to Buffalo with the team, according to McDermott, and had to find his own way home. Things were calm with Dareus all offseason up until this point and for a player who has dealt with issues in the past, it’s disappointing to say the least.
“I haven’t had the chance to talk further with Marcell,” McDermott said. “We’re focused on moving past that and getting better on the practice field today.”
Dareus didn’t practice on Sunday due to a lingering hip issue. It’s unlikely he will be in the locker room after practice during the media session.
