This is the last chance for players with something on the line to make an impression.

The Buffalo Bills, losers of all three of their prior games this preseason, return home to take on the Detroit Lions Thursday in their final tune up for the regular season. Don’t expect the Bills starters to see any time at all, except those that are still part of battles that have yet to have a winner be determined. With that in mind, here are five players to watch that have something riding on Thursday’s game.

Vlad Ducasse - OG

The veteran offensive guard has struggle this preseason but his start against the Baltimore Ravens suggest the Bills very much like Ducasse. John Miller, the team’s starter at the right guard spot, obviously must not have done enough by now to lock up the job. McDermott said in his press conference Tuesday that right interior line position is still an open competition, and that both Miller and Ducasse will play against the Lions. Ducasse could be playing for not only the starting job, but his spot on the roster.

Brandon Reilly - WR

Reilly has done a good job sticking out thus far into the preseason. The Bills have not scored many touchdowns this preseason, but Reilly is is the main contributor behind of the team’s majors. In the wake of Anquan Boldin leaving, McDermott named Reilly as one of the team’s young receivers.

Joe Banyard - RB

Has been impressive this preseason, make use of what little carries he has received. It will be tough for Banyard to make final cut with so many talent RBs above him in the depth chart, with four other running backs above him the depth chart, Banyard should make the team if Buffalo decides to keep a fifth back.
