The Buffalo Bills take on the Detroit Lions in the final preseason game of 2017 tonight, Thursday, August 31st. The game will kick off from Ford Field in Detroit at 7:00 PM ET. Here is what to watch for tonight.
Quarterbacks
With Tyrod Taylor and T.J Yates likely sitting out with concussions, the Bills will turn to Nathan Peterman and Keith Wenning to play all night. It will be interesting to see how long Peterman, the impressive rookie, will stay on the field versus Wenning, who will likely be cut once Taylor and Yates are healthy.
Fringe Players
Tonight is the last time players are on the bubble of making the 53-man roster will get to show their worth against an opposing team. It’s do or die for those guys. Positions that fans can keep their eyes on include wide receiver, cornerback, and defensive end.
Health
We can say this for every preseason game, but it is especially important tonight—the number one thing all Bills fans should be rooting for is that every Bills player gets through the game with no injuries. I believe all Patriots and Chiefs fans will second that opinion.
One last preseason game at 7:00 PM ET tonight stands between the Bills and the 2017 regular season. Tune in for the a look at a rookie QB and some fringe guys looking to make the team, and hope for a game with no injuries.
