Adolphus Washington is struggling in Buffalo Bills camp

He needs to find his way fast.

Buffalo Bills DT Adolphus Washington was running with the first-team defense a few days into training camp. By the eighth day of practice, Washington has regressed and found himself taking reps with the third-team defense.

When Washington was granted the opportunity to take reps with the first-team defense, he was never able to separate himself from Jerel Worthy and others. Worthy on the other hand, has taken over the third defensive tackle spot at this point in camp. He has played well with both the first and second-team defense and has solidified his role with this team at this point. Worthy has shown to be more consistent and more dominant that Washington throughout camp thus far.

Defensive end Ryan Davis was even taking reps at defensive tackle ahead of Washington on Wednesday. Davis was cross-training at tackle on the second team, while Washington ran with the third team and you know McDermott likes versatility. Washington will need to find his way soon and take advantage of every rep he gets from here on out. The Bills first preseason game on Thursday against the Vikings will be a good time to do so. Unfortunately, because of his arrest, the Bills brass will hold him to a higher standard as they demand the best from their players.
