Buffalo Bills add veteran receiver Anquan Boldin

Bills add depth to their wide receiver corps and veteran leadership

The Buffalo Bills will be signing veteran receiver Anquan Boldin today. The news was reported first by Peter Schrager of FOX Sports online.

Boldin has the ability to come onto the roster and make an immediate impact. As Boldin enters his 15th NFL season, he has shown that he can still contribute to a team, catching eight touchdown passes for the Detroit Lions last year. Prior to playing in the Motor City, Boldin spent three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, and seven seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.

For a team like the Bills, who have had a large amount of roster turnover this offseason, Boldin brings a veteran attitude and steady hand to the culture shock that is taking place. With a receiving corps as young as Buffalo’s, Boldin’s presence will be felt with the younger guys on and off the field.

He has the opportunity to reach a milestone in his career as well. Boldin currently sits at 14th all-time in receiving yards with 13,779. If he is able to rack up 567 this year, he will crack the top ten. That’s roughly equal to the yards he put up a year ago while catching eight touchdowns on 67 receptions in Detroit.

Schrager is reporting that the signing will be a one-year deal.
