With the Denver Broncos coming in to Orchard Park on Sunday to face the Buffalo Bills, some of the Bills’ biggest players, both literally and figuratively, are dealing with injuries.
Starting left tackle Cordy Glenn, who has been dealing with the after effects of offseason ankle surgery, injured his other foot, according to head coach Sean McDermott, during Sunday’s loss to the Carolina Panthers. McDermott gave no indication one way or the other regarding Glenn’s status for the game, but a left tackle with two bad feet is not what the Bills want to see blocking Von Miller. Glenn’s status will be important to watch as the week progresses; if he is unable to go, rookie Dion Dawkins will presumably take his place.
Also missing today’s practice was Marcell Dareus. He missed most of the first quarter of Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, and although he was able to return, he played just seventeen snaps overall. When asked during his Wednesday press conference, McDermott said that the injury is a sprain. To cover for the possibility that Dareus will miss the game against Denver, the Bills signed defensive tackle Deandre Coleman, who was a member of the Bills from 2016 until September 5 of this year.
McDermott also mentioned that defensive end Shaq Lawson, who suffered a nerve contusion against Carolina, is considered day-to-day. The coaching staff is “very encouraged by his progress,” however, so it sounds as if he has a good chance of playing this week.
