It is way too early to have this conversation, but as you’re about to see the American Football Conference playoff picture is wide open after the first calendar month of the 2017 NFL season and the Buffalo Bills stand in great shape for the rest of the way.

Starting in the AFC East, where the Bills find themselves in first place and holding a tiebreaker over the defending champion New England Patriots. Both teams are 2-1 but the Patriots’ loss was to an AFC opponent, while Buffalo fell to an NFC opponent. The Miami Dolphins fell to 1-1 with a loss to the New York Jets on Sunday, who moved to 1-2 on the season.

Elsewhere in the AFC, only one team has a better record than Buffalo. The 3-0 Kansas City Chiefs are the only team to beat the Patriots and have won each of their other two games. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans, Oakland Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, and the surprising Jacksonville Jaguars sit at 2-1 with Buffalo and New England.
