On Monday morning, the Buffalo Bills finished three new signings to their practice squad, in addition to seven that were announced over the weekend, filling out their practice squad for week one of the regular season. The signings featured tight end MyCole Pruitt, linebacker Zach Vigil, and offensive lineman Will Pericak.
The 6’2” 251 pound Pruitt is an H-back with a similar skillset to Charles Clay. Like Clay, he’s a great athlete - he was one of the top performers at the 2015 NFL Combine. He’s appeared in 20 games, starting three, and collected 12 catches for 102 yards in his career.
Vigil, who stands 6’2” 240, was an undrafted free agent out of Utah State in 2015. A solid athlete for a linebacker, he started 2 games for the Dolphins as a rookie, and has 11 career tackles (8 solo).
Pericak is a 27-year-old guard/center measuring in at 6’3” 300 pounds. Originally signed to a practice squad in 2013, he spent 2014 out of football, then was a member of the Seattle Seahawks practice squad in 2015 and 2016.
As a refresher, here’s the rest of your practice squad:
Wide receiver Brandon Reilly (6’2” 200) was a former walk-on at Nebraska. As a senior, he had 21 receptions for 412 yards and 2 touchdowns. During the preseason, he showed off excellent body control on several difficult catches, becoming the star of Buffalo’s August.
Wide receiver Daikiel Shorts (6’1” 200) was a slot receiving weapon for West Virginia. He had a 63/894/5 receiving slash as a senior. Shorts had some good moments in the preseason but didn’t get as many opportunities as Reilly.
Offensive guard Jordan Mudge (6’4” 300) is a 28-year-old rookie who spent his earlier years playing Arena Football and managing a farm. Bills coaches really liked his development trajectory during practice.
Defensive lineman Marquavius Lewis (6’4” 270) was a JuCo star who transferred to South Carolina and became a team captain as a senior, though he only had 1.5 sacks. Lewis played both defensive end and defensive tackle for Buffalo in the preseason.
Edge rusher Ian Seau (6’2” 250) is a second year player from Nevada, and the nephew of the late Junior Seau. A strong fourth preseason game featuring two sacks and a forced fumble got Buffalo interested in his development.
Cornerback Marcus Sayles (5’9” 177) was an undrafted free agent rookie for the Bills out of Division II West Georgia. Sayles had a prominent place as a kick blocking specialist in college when he wasn’t playing cornerback.
Safety B.T. Sanders (6’0” 195) was another UDFA rookie signing from FCS Nicholls State. He had 248 tackles in his college career.
