A recent report from the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says the Buffalo Bills will not be trading LeSean McCoy this season. Rapoport’s latest tweet updates the rumors regarding McCoy.
Rumors surfaced that the Philadelphia Eagles were interested in trading for McCoy after the season-ending to Jay Ajayi, and that the two clubs had conversations over compensation for the Pro Bowl running back. According to Rapoport, the Bills are asking for a second round pick and additional assets for McCoy. It is a situation worth monitoring for Bills fans, as things could change if the team is out of playoff contention leading up to the trade deadline. However, Rapoport believes that the Bills are unlikely to move McCoy this year or next.
If the Bills were to trade McCoy, they would be left with Chris Ivory, Marcus Murphy, and Taiwan Jones at running back. Ivory has flashed the ability to produce in McCoy’s absence this season, and he would likely become the immediate starter should a trade take place.
