Buffalo Bills rookie linebacker Tremaine Edmunds out against New England Patriots with concussion

Not great.

Buffalo Bills rookie linebacker Tremaine Edmunds has been ruled out for the rest of the game against the New England Patriots with a concussion. He took a powerful blow from fullback James Develin, which seems like the most obvious play for the injury.

Replacing Edmunds in the lineup was Julian Stanford, who hasn’t seen any time on defense this season. Edmunds has played every snap for Buffalo this season heading into this game.

Edmunds made his presence felt early in the game, nearly intercepting a Tom Brady pass but still knocking down the ball intended for Rob Gronkowski. He also had great closing speed on a tackle for a loss. He had eight tackles already in the game before being removed.

Buffalo’s defense has been stout, holding Brady and the Patriots offense in check all game. When Edmunds was still in the game, New England managed just three field goals through the midway point of the third quarter.
