On the latest edition of Billieve: A Buffalo Bills Fan Podcast, host John Boccacino and co-host Anthony Marino break down the good (Allen’s scrambling ability and the dominant play of defensive standouts Jerry Hughes, Lorenzo Alexander, and Kyle Williams), the bad (a combined 23 penalties for 170 yards), and the ugly (the third-quarter fracas between the teams that saw both Leonard Fournette and Shaq Lawson throw punches before being ejected) from Week 12.
Give our podcast a listen to relive the Bills’ 24-21 win over the Jaguars.
In propelling the Bills to their first two-game winning streak of 2018, a huge assist goes out to Allen, Buffalo’s prized rookie QB who rushed for a franchise-record (for a QB) 99 yards with one touchdown and finished with two TDs and 259 yards of total offense.
Allen and the offense jumped out to a 14-0 lead, in part due to a brilliant, beautiful 75-yard touchdown pass to Robert Foster, an undrafted rookie who led the Bills in receiving yards (94) for the second straight game.
The critical moment came in the third quarter, when the Jaguars seemed to have taken a 20-14 lead on a 30-yard touchdown toss from Blake Bortles to Donte Moncrief. But that call was overturned, and all heck broke out when a melee ensued between Fournette, Lawson, and several other Bills and Jaguars players.
Our podcasters analyzed the impact the third-quarter fight had on the outcome of the game; assessed the Bills’ continued dedication to their youth movement; and offered up their expectations for the final five games of the regular-season.
