Today, the Buffalo Bills claimed WR Isaiah McKenzie off of waivers from the Denver Broncos and have released rookie WR Cam Phillips.

Phillips was somewhat of a camp standout this summer, but he hasn't had much playing time or production from the receiver spot to this point in the regular season. During the 2018 season, he has 1 catch on one target for 9 yards.

The Bills tried to sign McKenzie off the Broncos practice squad about a week ago, but instead the Broncos promoted him to the 53-man roster as a result of Chad Kelly being cut after his arrest for criminal trespass.

McKenzie was a fifth-round pick in 2017 for the Broncos. In his rookie season, he appeared in 11 games but only caught four passes for 29 yards. This season, McKenzie has appeared in just one game thus far, racking up zero catches.

McKenzie does add some value to special teams as a punt returner. He even took a 78-yard punt back for a touchdown in the preseason against the Minnesota Vikings. He has some explosiveness and speed that the Bills seriously lack on offense.
