When both the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets drafted highly-touted rookie quarterbacks in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, fans of both teams dreamed of watching a new quarterback rivalry blossom in the AFC East.

Sadly, Sunday’s Week 10 clash between the Bills (2-7) and Jets (3-6) will not represent the first in what both franchises hope is a rich history of Josh Allen vs. Sam Darnold clashes.

With the backdrop of two teams in a free-fall and with little to no hopes of making the playoffs, Matt Warren, editor-in-chief of Buffalo Rumblings, pinch-hits on Billieve: A Buffalo Bills Fan podcast to preview the matchup.

Warren is joined by MacGregor Wells from Gang Green Nation to discuss another lost season for the Bills and the Jets.

Hear what our podcast duo had to say about the game.

Among the topics covered on the podcast: what can we expect from two struggling offenses? The Bills have scored only 20 points over their last three games, and 33 points over their last four contests (all losses). The Jets, conversely, have managed only 33 points over their recent three-game slide.

The podcasters addressed the struggles of Darnold, who started off fast in a win over the Detroit Lions but has struggled since, compiling 1,934 passing yards with 11 touchdowns, a league-leading 14 interceptions, and a 55-percent completion percentage.

It won’t help Darnold’s cause Sunday as the Jets could be without the services of WRs Robby Anderson (21 receptions for 346 yards and three TDs), Quincy Enunwa (25 catches for 327 yards and one TD), and RB Bilal Powell (343 rushing yards, 110 receiving yards).

Warren and Wells also dissect the reasons for the Jets’ defensive struggles, offer up their thoughts on whether Buffalo can get Pro Bowl RB LeSean McCoy going against a suspect run defense, and address why the New York Jets play in New Jersey.

What a juicy match-up this will be when these AFC East foes square off at 1 p.m. Eastern Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
