The New York Jets traveled to Orchard Park for their Week 14 showdown with the Buffalo Bills, coming out with a hard-fought 27-23 victory. While the Jets trailed for the majority of the afternoon, they were able to do enough to win the game in the clutch, as rookie quarterback Sam Darnold turned in his first career fourth-quarter comeback.
In terms of fantasy-football scoring, however, Darnold was not among the Jets’ top scorers for the week. For the second straight game, Buffalo’s defense held its opponent to limited yards, but the team was unable to salvage a victory.
Here are the Jets’ top fantasy football scorers for Week 14.
RB Elijah McGuire
New York’s young running back handled the majority of the carries after veteran Isaiah Crowell left the game with a toe injury. With an increase in reps came an increase in production, and the second-year back posted his best numbers of the 2018 season. He carried 17 times for 60 yards, including a one-yard touchdown plunge on fourth-and-goal to give the Jets the lead for good in the fourth quarter. McGuire also caught three passes for 23 yards, giving him 15.8 fantasy points for the week.
WR Robby Anderson
The speedy wideout has undergone a disappearing act this season after a breakout 2017 campaign, but he had a very solid day against Buffalo on Sunday. Working against top corner Tre’Davious White, Anderson was able to secure four catches on seven targets, totaling 76 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown reception came on a gorgeous play by Darnold, who had run from one end of the field to the other before throwing a strike to Anderson, who came open against White just enough for his quarterback to find him. Anderson’s second big play was a back-breaker for Buffalo, as he beat White up the sideline on the game-winning drive to set up a goal-to-go situation for the Jets. Anderson totaled 15.6 fantasy points on the week.
Jets D/ST
We postulated that the Bills’ defense would be able to force Sam Darnold into turnovers, but we had the wrong rookie quarterback on the negative end of our projection. The Jets harassed Josh Allen all afternoon, sacking him three times, intercepting him twice, and recovering one fumble. The Jets also blocked a field goal en route to an 11-point fantasy scoring day.
