Last seen in October walking off the field on Monday Night Football, veteran Buffalo Bills quarterback Derek Anderson has finally cleared concussion protocol after six weeks on the sideline. The good news doesn’t end their, either.
Kicker Stephen Hauschka, injured on a cheap shot at the end of the first half against the New York Jets, kicked at practice today. The Bills never signed another kicker, leading us to believe this was the plan all along.
Running back LeSean McCoy practiced again today. His status for Sunday is still undetermined. He only had a couple carries last week before leaving with a hamstring injury. His backup, Chris Ivory, missed a portion of the game with a shoulder injury but has been a full go this week in practice.
Cornerback Ryan Lewis is the only player who has been ruled out for this week’s game. He is still in the concussion protocol.
While McDermott didn’t say which of the quarterbacks would be number two in the pecking order, he didn’t sound like someone who was ready to have Anderson dive back into the pool:
“We’ll see and take it one day at a time right now,” said McDermott of the QB pecking order. “Make sure he comes out good here.”
