It looks as if the Buffalo Bills will be without LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory for Sunday’s match-up with the Detroit Lions. Early reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter have both backs looking highly unlikely to play, leaving the Bills thin at running back.
If Schefter’s report holds true, it looks as if Marcus Murphy and Keith Ford will be the two active running backs for the Bills. Fans may remember Ford from the preseason, when he appeared in all four games while rushing for 130 yards on 34 carries. The rookie from Texas A&M was cut following the preseason, and was on the Bills practice squad up until this week.
Murphy has been on the active roster all season, rushing for 215 yards on 42 carries this season. There was a sense of optimism around Murphy in the preseason, and it will be interesting to see how he performs while presumably getting the bulk of the carries.
Ivory practiced in full all week but was listed as questionable while McCoy was limited all week.
