Buffalo Bills defensive leader and 13-year veteran Kyle Williams is playing in his final NFL game today at hoe against the Miami Dolphins. That’s not the only thing he’s playing for.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Williams will earn a $150,000 bonus if he collects his sixth sack of the season against Miami on Sunday. Williams has only surpassed 5.5 sacks in his career once; he tallied 10.5 in 2013 (otherwise known as The Year of Mike Pettine).
Williams stands at 48.5 career sacks right now, for an average of one sack in 26.6% of his games. He’s recorded at least one full sack in 34 career games.
Williams hasn’t notched a full or partial sack against Miami since 2014, when he took down Ryan Tannehill in a Bills win. The previous year, he recorded two sacks in a blowout win. Those are the only two games he has a full sack against the Dolphins.
No word yet on if he has any bonuses for scoring a rushing touchdown like he did last year.
