The Buffalo Bills are hosting free-agent tackle Marshall Newhouse on a visit today according to multiple reports. With Dion Dawkins penned it to man the left side, the right tackle spot and swing tackle depth are both very much in the air.

Newhouse, who was most recently the starting right tackle for the Oakland Raiders, was a fifth round draft pick in 2010 out of Texas Christian University. He was recently released by Oakland due to inconsistency according to coach Jon Gruden.

“We had some inconsistency at right tackle obviously,” Gruden told the press in Indianapolis. “Newhouse, he had his moments where he played well. He had some moments where he obviously struggled.”

In 2018 Newhouse ranked as the 65th-best tackle in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus and he gave up 38 pressures, which is 15 more than the left tackle according to ESPN. The right tackle battled through injuries last season and started 14 of the team’s games.
