Buffalo Bills 2018 preseason schedule released

The Bengals are coming, but the Lions aren’t!

Matt Warren is Associate Director of NFL coverage for SB Nation and previously covered the Bills for Buffalo Rumblings for more than a decade.

The 2018 Buffalo Bills preseason schedule has been released and for the first time in forever, they won’t be playing the Detroit Lions. It’s the first time since 2001 the two teams won’t close the preseason against each other. (Buffalo will host the Lions in the regular season.)

The Bills will host Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane’s former team, the Carolina Panthers, in Week 1 and travel to the Cleveland Browns in Week 2, where Tyrod Taylor just so happens to be the starting quarterback (for now). Specific dates and times for these games will be shared at a later date.

On August 26th, Buffalo will play a nationally televised game on FOX at 4 p.m. Eastern against the Cincinnati Bengals. Get ready for more retrospectives on the end of the Bills’ playoff drought and gifts for Andy Dalton! Preston Brown, Cordy Glenn, AJ McCarron, and Russell Bodine will all be playing their former team, as well.

The final game of the preseason will be held on Thursday, August 30th, in Chicago against the Bears. No time has been announced.
