The Buffalo Bills have an aging group of running backs. Both LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory, the clear starter and expected backup, will be 30 years old or more at the start of the 2018 NFL season.
On Wednesday, former Arizona State running back Kalen Ballage visited the Bills as one of the official pre-draft visitors. He posted pictures on his Instagram feed and it was later confirmed by Ryan Talbot of NYUpstate.com.
Ballage was a four-year starter for the Sun Devils and had his best seasons come as as a sophomore and junior. In his sophomore season, Ballage posted 653 yards with an average of 5.2 yards per carry and 4 touchdowns. In his junior season he had 536 yards with an average of 4.3 yards per carry and 14 touchdowns. He also added 44 receptions for 469 yards and a touchdown.
Ballage is a big back standing at 6’1” and 228 pounds. He can be an every-down back in the NFL with his size and versatility. Come draft weekend, Ballage will likely be a late Day 2 or early Day 3 pick and would be good value for the Bills if they're able to draft him.
