The Buffalo Bills are on a roll of pre-draft visits this week with a large chunk of them being cornerbacks. The latest is Florida Gators cornerback Duke Dawson, reports Josh Norris.
Dawson is seen as a slot cornerback in the NFL where the Bills have a hole left by the departed Leonard Johnson. He can cover tight ends and running backs and isn’t afraid to make a tackle in run support. He also played some safety at Florida and did play at outside cornerback in his final season. Especially if Buffalo misses on a three-down coverage linebacker, he would be a great addition (and could be used even if that guy does come to Buffalo).
Buffalo is taking a look at several cornerbacks. Dawson is the fifth they’ve had in for a pre-draft visit; more than any position we we know about.
Dawson is projected as a Day 2 pick.
