Report: Indiana tight end Ian Thomas had pre-draft visit with Buffalo Bills

Thomas is projected as a Day 2 prospect.

It has been reported by Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle that the Buffalo Bills have hosted another offensive prospect leading up to the draft. This time it is Ian Thomas, the talented tight end from Indiana, who has made the trip to One Bills Drive.

Thomas wrapped up his senior season with 25 catches for 376 yards and 5 touchdowns. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein lists Thomas as a Day two prospect that could be selected in the second or third rounds. Zielein notes that Thomas as “talented but raw”, and compares him to Jermaine Gresham of the Arizona Cardinals.

It will be interesting to see how the Bills prioritize the tight end position in the draft with Charles Clay, Nick O’Leary, and Logan Thomas all returning from last season. While tight end is not the team’s most pressing need, one could argue that the Bills could use a successor to Clay.
