2018 NFL Draft: Mike Mayock’s final mock has Buffalo Bills trading up for Josh Allen

With two quarterbacks off the board, the Bills made a trade for the third.

NFL Network Draft analyst Mike Mayock published his final mock draft of the 2018 season on Wednesday night, and he foresaw the Buffalo Bills making a trade with the Indianapolis Colts to select Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen.

Mayock had the Bills using both of their first round picks as part of a package deal for the Colts’ sixth overall pick, where they selected Allen. Sam Darnold was off the board at the first overall pick, and Baker Mayfield went at three to the New York Jets.

Mayock’s mock projected a fairly steep drop for UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen, whom he had fall to the Arizona Cardinals at the fifteenth pick. Lamar Jackson landed at the sixteenth pick.

Mayock has a strong success rate in one facet of the draft projection process - since 2008, he has never failed to correctly predict the first overall pick of the draft. With countless rumors swirling about the true intentions of the Cleveland Browns, and their general manager not even willing to tell his own head coach the choice, Mayock may be our clearest pointer to whom the Browns will select Thursday night.
