The past two months for former Buffalo Bills guard Richie Incognito has been a roller coaster. From firing his agent, to retiring, being released by the team, and being involved in an incident at a gym, Incognito now tells John Wawrow of the Associated Press that he is doing well and has plans to play in the NFL for the upcoming season.

Incognito expressed in a rambling text shared by Wawrow his appreciation for his former teammate in Eric Wood, the Pegulas for reviving his career and more:

So thankful to have so many great people in my life. Eric is my brother and my heart is broken that he can never play again. He is a Pilar in that community. He is such a good man and helped me so much during my time in Buffalo. When I would have a dark day he was a bright shining light that helped me through. I owe a lot to him. I also owe a lot to the Pegula family for giving me an opportunity to resurrect my career. My 3 years in Buffalo will be some of my fondest memories. The passion of the fans and the city helped ignite a fire inside me that I thought had left in 2013. I’m so thankful for my bills Mafia family and their support. I’m also thankful to BRANDON Beane and coach McDermott. Fro day 1 we set out to make the biggest turnaround in professional sports history. We achieved that goal and my heart was so happy for the fans. I wish my brothers good luck in the upcoming season. I love those guys. It’s on guys like Dion [Dawkins] and Tre [White] to follow the lead of Micah Hyde, Kyle Williams, Lorenzo Alexander. That team has all it needs to break through to the next level. Hopefully I will land somewhere where I can come back up there and kick their ass. They know what time it is. [sunglass smile emoji]

Incognito was recently released following psychological evaluation as a result of an incident at a gym where he threw a dumbbell at another person in the gym. In a report from TMZ, according to the victim of the attack, Incognito, “was rambling about the government and screaming at the man to ‘get off my f*cking playground.’”

Incognito was released by the Bills just two days prior to the incident but here tells Wawrow that he is working to get ready for the upcoming season. He hopes to land with a team so he can see the Bills during the season.
