In the latest edition of the Buffalo Rumblings Podcast, John Boccacino and Anthony Marino address four key questions facing the Buffalo Bills as they prepare to open training camp July 26 at St. John Fisher College.

As the Bills embark on their annual trip to Fisher for training camp, there are many questions facing the team in the second year of the Brandon Beane/Sean McDermott era.

While we’ve spent plenty of time addressing the quarterback position — which currently is a three-man race between AJ McCarron, Nathan Peterman, and rookie Josh Allen (with McCarron seemingly in the lead to win the starting gig) — there were other issues our podcast team decided to look at in this week’s episode.

Our podcast duo identified two candidates to break out at camp (hint: one is a former first-round draft pick who hasn’t quite lived up to the lofty expectations, while the other is a second-year player who enjoyed a successful rookie season in Western New York).

Boccacino and Marino each provided their thoughts on who will emerge as the team’s No. 2 wide receiver behind veteran Kelvin Benjamin. If healthy, both of our podcasters feel the role belongs to Zay Jones, but there is plenty of competition.

With Jones’ missing out on the preseason activities to date, guys like Jeremy Kerley, Andre Holmes, Brandon Reilly, Rod Streater, and even Quan Bray and Ray-Ray McCloud III have seen action with the first-team. Whoever distinguishes themselves at training camp and during the preseason could legitimately have the chance to start opposite Benjamin, especially if Jones doesn’t reduce his drops.

Knowing that every year, at least one undrafted free agent breaks out and earns a roster spot, Boccacino and Marino combed through the 13 undrafted free agents to identify who they feel has the best chance at not only making the final 53-man roster, but making an impact in 2018.

Speaking of surprises, each summer there is at least one player who is a surprise cut, someone the fans felt would be on the roster, but is cut after either a disappointing performance, an injury, or both. Our podcast duo identified two players who could be on the fence as a surprise roster cut.
