In May, Buffalo Bills receiver Zay Jones underwent knee surgery. At the time there was no guarantee that he would be ready for the start of training camp but Bills coaches and staff were hopeful.
The first practice of training camp will be Thursday evening and Jones will not be a participant as the Bills have placed him on the non-football injury list. Jones will have to stick to his recovery process before he will be medically cleared to return to action. After he is cleared there is a good chance the Bills will monitor his reps and be sure to not bring him back too quick as they have done with other players and their injuries.
In other news, defensive tackle Tenny Palepoi was released from the team on Wednesday. Palepoi signed in April with the Bills entering his fifth NFL season. With Palepoi released, another roster spot has opened up if the Bills decide to add any more players for training camp and the preseason.
Buffalo’s active roster now stands at 88 players.
