Buffalo Bills close training camp practice to fans on Tuesday, August 14

Thunderstorms are moving in.

The Buffalo Bills have closed practice to the public on Tuesday, August 14th. Originally scheduled to be an 8:45 a.m. Eastern outdoor practice, it has been moved indoors at 11:15 a.m. due to weather concerns.

According to The Weather Channel, there is at least an 85% chance of thunderstorms before, during, and after the entire practice window. As someone who has been at practice in a rapid downpour and thunderstorm, it’s particularly scary. There is not a lot of space to take cover due to access restrictions on the buildings and the openness of the field, and the main “safe area” is the large merchandise tent. A tent. With metal poles.

Have no fear, mateys. Pirate Day, originally scheduled for Tuesday, will now take place at Wednesday morning’s practice, the final session of training camp at St. John Fisher College in 2018. Many little pirates were afraid they had sent the final theme day to Davy Jones’ Locker, but that order was belayed. Instead of battening down the hatches, they just warped it.
