This is tough.

The Buffalo Bills just lost their first game of the year in what became a display of complete professional incompetence on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Buffalo didn’t earn a first down until the third quarter. Defensively, the pass defense gave up 236 yards to Flacco in just the first half and the team gave up 47 total points. Here are the players that made the most of a bad day.

P Corey Bojorquez

How about that punter? The newly-signed, left-footed, rookie punter stolen from the New England Patriots shined in his first real action since November 2017. The ordained minister had a punting average of 50 yards, with a long of 58. Note also that his fumble early in the second half had more to do with the inclement weather.

LB Tremaine Edmunds

The rookie linebacker led the team in tackles with six , while coming down with a sack and a forced fumble on the same series in the first half. With that series, Edmunds reportedly became the first Bills rookie with a sack in the season opener since 2002 and the first with a forced fumble since 2013. At least this was something to build off of for the athletic rookie.

Bills fans at M&T Stadium

Any visiting Buffalo Bills fans that decided to stick it out in the stadium, and from the TV broadcast there didn’t appear to be many, deserve respect for what they were forced to endure. Between the rain and the absolutely putrid performance by the Bills, spectators likely got drenched in more ways than one.
